Denim sneakers have been on the rise for some time now, and we are certainly not opposed to joining in on the nostalgic trend. While Jordan Brand has a few pairs planned for the coming months, including a “Black Denim” version of the Air Jordan 1 Low and an Air Jordan 4 covered in blue wash “Denim,” you need to check out this custom Air Jordan 1 High “Boro” by sneaker designer Joe Allan (@_joeallan) of The Cactus Gentleman.

A Closer Look At The Sneaker

What distinguishes Allan’s design from the average denim-covered sneaker is its environmentally friendly construction. The shoe is made of eco-friendly plant leather sourced sustainably from cactus, which is then layered with rich Japanese materials such as indigo denim and Matsusaka cotton.

The Swoosh designs on this custom pair are also very distinct. On one side, there’s a light wash denim Swoosh, and on the other, the denim quarter panels are cut in the shape of a check to reveal a darker blue fabric underneath. It’s all of thesesmall, thoughtful details that combine to create a truly beautiful design.

Finally, the shoe concludes with a white midsole and grey rubber outsole, which provide a clean contrast to the intricate details on the upper.
